ABOUT THE BUILDER John Thomas has been in the building industry since 1979 starting his career as a trim carpenter. John's great work ethics readily gained the respect of his working associates. One such associate recommended John to a Canadian based development company as a Warranty Manager. The company had a Texas division that was building and developing a $20 million Garden Home Community in Bedford. John excelled as the Warranty Manager and proved himself worthy of the position General Operations Manager. When the project was complete John decided not to relocate and became a builder for a national home building company. Demonstrating his attention to detail, management skills, and the ability to work well with diverse circumstances, John was rated the Top Builder in Texas for two years and was also recognized as a Top Builder in the nation.
John later moved to a large local home building company where he was Production Manager of the Western Division. Again, John‘s capabilities as a builder were acknowledged. The Western Division Manager employed John to build his personal home in the exclusive Mira Vista Estates in Fort Worth. John built his home while attending to his duties as Production Manager for the company. After five years with the company, John made the decision to venture into the larger upscale custom home building industry. He was employed by Howard Homes, Inc., a well respected custom home building company based in Flower Mound, as Vice President of Construction.
Howard Homes later became Riverstone Custom Homes due to a buy out. It was at this time that John's career moved him to General Manager of Riverstone Custom Homes. The company built an average of 45 homes a year at prices ranging from $400,000 to $800,000. While executing his duties as General Manager of the company, John supervised the extensive remodeling of the owner's personal home in Dallas . This home was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Decorating in the January 2002 issue.
Riverstone Custom Homes was sold to an investor who maintained his residency in Florida. John continued as General Manager of the company until the owner's untimely death. It was at this time that John started his own company, Texanna Custom Homes, Inc.
Texanna Custom Homes, Inc. has been building custom homes since June 2001. John Thomas's reputation in the building industry and to his homebuyers as an honest, detail oriented, quality builder has helped to grow his company. In the 4 years Texanna Custom Homes has been in business it has built over 50,000 sq.ft of custom homes. The net sales of the homes built are over $6,145,000. It currently has 16,200 sq.ft. under construction at net sales over $1,875,000. Texanna Custom Homes has also remodeled two vintage period homes in the prestigious Mistletoe Heights in Fort Worth. While building primarily in the northern DFW area in cities such as Flower Mound, Southlake, and Argyle, Texanna has built on large acreage in the southern area of DFW near Burleson and also in Aledo.
John has been working in the building industry since 1979 and has built or supervised the construction of over 2,000 homes. Most importantly is the honest and forthright way in which he conducts himself with his homebuyers and the attention he gives to the building of their home.
